Although known for his Chicago connection, Al Capone was no stranger to the Florida Panhandle where his bootleggers would arrive from their dangerous journey smuggling in spirits from the Caribbean islands. Destin in particular, was a haven for bootleggers, as it

 had a train line location nearby that traveled straight to Chicago.
